Conference Highlights & Photos: Inside Fixed Income 2019
I don’t often get the chance to do a really deep dive into fixed income so it was a pleasure to attend and speak at Inside Fixed Income, a conference that was truly on the wonk side of this topic. The conference was put on by Inside ETFs so there was a focus on fixed income ETFs. There was plenty of discussion of individual issues, SMAs, and funds too.
Highlights included-
1. Speaking!
I love speaking and this was a great opportunity for me to dig more deeply into the fixed income side of ESG and Impact Investing- in fact, if you’re a Connected Investing subscriber, you may have noticed more articles on that topic recently, while I was studying up.
2. Meeting colleagues
I especially enjoyed meeting people in person for the first time after knowing them through social media or Connected Investing.
3. Learning from peers
I was surprised to hear how frequently ESG and green bonds came up in non-ESG topic panels.
Bonus highlight
I got to go for a short run through the Gas Lamp Quarter of San Diego and along Martin Luther King, Jr Promenade which had engravings of quotes and speech excerpts. I stopped to read each one which made my run both very contemplative and also not very strenuous.
